Shifting the focus
Are you still worried about Obama’s birth certificate? Some Republicans think we should be.
I don’t care where he was born or even if he was born, he could be cyber robot for all I care, because it is all just another smoke screen created by the Republicans to divert our attention away from their responsibility for getting us into and keeping us in this mess in the first place.
No matter how you cut it, the Republicans worked this country over during the Bush administration when they controlled the House and the Senate.
They deregulated corporate capitalism, thus allowing Wall Street and the banks to gamble with our pensions, savings and our 401(k)s leaving us and them broke. But under Bush, they got bailed out by TARP, we didn’t. They allowed the mortgage companies to sucker us into loans we couldn’t afford and then let the Federal Reserve raise interest rates every month until our adjustable mortgages doubled, then they foreclosed on our homes. And they still got paid by government backed insurance at the tax payers expense. They resold our homes again for more profit; they couldn’t lose.
They let the oil companies gouge our pockets and pollute our land and oceans while making the largest profits of any company in history. They let the drug companies charge whatever they wanted for Medicare prescription drugs with no negotiations (that was Dick Cheney’s doing). They started two phony wars, while lining the pockets of the war profiteers like Halliburton and the defense contractors, then they cut taxes for the rich (who they represent), while putting us trillions more in debt.
They allowed the insurance companies to cancel our medical policies if we got sick, then deny coverage for millions more with pre-existing conditions who couldn’t afford insurance — who the tax payers had to foot the bill for — because without insurance, they all ended up in emergency rooms, that cost us another $50 billion a year.
The Republicans, with the help of all their crony capitalists, have spent hundreds of millions of dollars over the past three years on propaganda against the Democrats and Obama, most of it lies. The Republican-controlled House, along with its corporate masters, blocked every attempt Obama and the Senate made to create jobs or improve the economy.
In fact, they did every thing they could to sabotage the economy and block recovery and blame it on Obama so they could make him a one-term president. That’s how power hungry they are; it’s treason.
They filibustered and blocked projects and bills they were for, just to make Obama lose. They didn’t care if the country also lost.
Now Republicans are blaming the Democrats and Obama because it’s taking too long to recover from the mess they made, even though we are recovering. If they get back in power, they will do the same exact things they did under the Bush administration that got us into this mess the first time. They are already doing it.
If they can’t beat Obama on substance and policy, they will try and stop you from voting for him.
